He won consecutive Arnold Classic titles in 2002 and 2003, and placed 2nd to Ronnie Coleman in the Mr. Olympia four times before claiming the title in 2006. Biography
William Branch Warren was born on February 28th, 1975 in Tyler, Texas. His first stage appearance was rather early on in his career, when he was still in highschool, where he won the 1992 AAU Teenage Mr. America competition. From the very start he was willing to do whatever it took to build his physique and get to the top. When he was a teen he used to sneak into the local gym through the back door because he couldn't afford the cost of a membership. After getting his first taste of success at such a young age, his love for the sport of bodybuilding only grew. It was with great determination that he went on to win his first National Physique Commitee (NPC) event, the NPC Teenage Nationals.
It was Branch’s early success that built the muscular foundation that helped launch him into the pro ranks in 2001 by winning the National Bodybuilding & Fitness Championships, earning him his Pro card. But it was 2004 that catapulted his already-promising career to new heights when he made his pro debut at the Night of Champions, placing 8th and taking the bodybuilding world by storm. In 2006, he competed in his first Arnold Classic, almost winning the competition by taking 2nd place!
Today, Branch Warren is one of bodybuilding’s top pros. This Texas Titan continues to push his world-class physique to new heights. The words “thick,” “grainy” and “vascular” all describe the larger-than-life structure that has become Branch Warren – earning him respect from fans and competitors alike. And, this year, the 2008 Arnold Classic proved to be another pivotal contest for Branch’s pro career as he earned himself his second Most Muscular award amidst a heavily muscled pro line-up.
From those humble early beginnings to turning pro, Branch Warren shows no sign of letting up anytime soon. In fact, Branch says, “To become a great professional bodybuilder, you need to be dedicated, consistent and have the drive to want to compete. No matter what comes your way, you’ve got to be able to push past it and persevere. It’s all about reaching your goals.”
